Isn’t it sweet when your wife supports you with your bike upgrades because she wants you to be comfortable?
“Suportado ako ng asawa ko sa mga binibili ko sa bike ko kasi alam niya na magiging kumportable ako sa daan,” security guard Arnold Pindoy said. “Mas gusto niya ito kasi ayaw niya ako mag-motor.”
His mountain bike has undergone so many upgrades: he has the awesome Shimano Deore Groupset, hydraulic brakes, ultra long handlebar and an alloy air fork, among others.
Arnold is very much thankful for his wife because she understands his commuting needs. To be fair, our biker mainly uses this for commute and we think that purchasing these bike parts is a wise move.
“Pinag-iipunan ko ‘yung upgrade kasi mahirap kapag mabigat ‘yung bike mo sa daan,” he proudly said. “Magandang investment ito.”
He’s been cycling to work since 2008. He is a security guard of a pizza parlor in España, Manila but he lives in Fairview, Quezon City.
Hmmm… isn’t it quite far? Well, Arnold has a shortcut.
“35 to 40 minutes ang byahe ko. Dadaan ako sa Muñoz, lulusot sa Congressional tapos dadaan sa mga villages. Fairview na labas mo,” he said. “Kung mag-bus ako, one hour and thirty minutes.”
